How long does therapy take?

A great question, but one that is impossible to answer before we meet and explore your needs in more depth.

Some issues require just a small number of sessions. Others, due to their complexity, may require a longer-term process.

My guiding principle is that therapy should be focused on achieving the results you are seeking in just the right number of sessions you need.

Who do I work with?

I provide therapy for:

  • adults
  • teenagers (16+)
  • individuals

Where does therapy take place?

For individuals I provide face-to-face therapy from my practice in Ashtead, Surrey. I also offer sessions via webcam (Zoom only).

Choosing the right therapist

Research has shown that intangible factors such as whether you feel comfortable talking to a particular therapist play an important role in the success of therapy (over and above the specific techniques used).

So, please do feel free to call me and sound me out before booking an appointment. 

Is there a free introductory session?

This seems like a great idea in principle. In practice it is rarely productive. Seeking therapeutic help needs a genuine commitment and paying for every session is an important symbol of your commitment to yourself.
